Adaptive ski day recap 🤍 This is our third season heading up to Powderhorn with @coloradodiscoverabilitygj and it’s something our whole family looks forward to every year. What I love most about days like this is that it doesn’t feel like traditional therapy, it feels like play. It’s laughter in the lift line, ice cream breaks, sliding down hills, and spotting deer on the run. But underneath all the fun, there’s so much happening. She’s building strength, balance, confidence, and body awareness without even realizing how hard she’s working. That’s the magic of play-based therapy ✨ When it feels like fun, she’s so much more willing to participate, try new things, and push herself in ways that are harder to reach in a clinical setting. Watching her ski with the CDA volunteers, surrounded by support and encouragement, is something that never gets old. Programs like this don’t just create access, they create joy, confidence, and memories our whole family gets to share together. And the attention that they also put into Connor to get everyone out there together is just icing on the cake ❤️ Grateful for spaces where disability isn’t a barrier to adventure…it’s just part of the experience. And here’s hoping to some more CO snow so we can get back up there 🙏🙏🙏 #adaptiveskiing #adaptivesports #spinocerebellarataxia #inclusionmatters #disabilitypride
